Before half term, a group of secondary students and their tutors from ALP Leicester went on a day visit to London.
The trip was designed to give students a taste of London whilst allowing them to explore both contemporary and classic art work at two galleries.
Firstly we visited The Tate Modern on Southbank. We looked at a wide range of art works from surrealist paintings by René Magritte to conceptual work by Mark Rothko.
After lunch, we walked along Southbank and across the Thames to Trafalgar Square where we looked at the collections in the National Gallery. These include work by Monet and Van Gough.
The students and staff all had a fabulous day and some have been truly inspired by art work they have seen.
